Tahoe Approved PWC Listed By AWA
American
Watercraft Association
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), a regional government body made of representatives of the U.S. government, the states of California and Nevada and local agencies surrounding the lake, enacted a regulation to only allow new-technology motorboats to operate on Lake Tahoe. Sailboats using old-technology (carbureted) 2-cycle engines were exempted.
There are currently 26 PWC models legal to ride at Lake Tahoe. These models are the cleanest, quietest boats on the water. PWC owners have embraced these new craft for their versatility, fuel efficiency and friendliness to the environment.
For information about outboard motors allowed at Tahoe, contact the TRPA.
The following personal watercraft meet or exceed requirements set by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and are legal to operate on Lake Tahoe.
